The Psychotherapist is a core clinical provider within the EFMNY Clinic, responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychotherapy services to individuals and families impacted by epilepsy and related neurological and psychosocial conditions.
In addition to direct clinical care, this role actively supports clinic census growth and caseload expansion, contributing to outreach, engagement, referral follow-up, and client retention efforts aligned with EFMNY’s strategic priorities. The Psychotherapist works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and ensures full compliance with OMH, OPWDD Article 16, and Article 31 regulatory requirements, as well as EFMNY policies and procedures.

Clinical Services

The Psychotherapist works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and ensures full compliance with OMH, OPWDD Article 16, and Article 31 regulatory requirements, as well as EFMNY policies and procedures.
Clinical Services
- Provide individual psychotherapy services in accordance with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and EFMNY policies
- Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation within the EHR
- Participate in weekly case conferences, utilization review (UR), and other required clinical meetings
- Collaborate with the Clinic Director, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary staff to support integrated care
- Maintain an active and productive caseload consistent with clinic expectations and payer requirements
- Support clinic census growth through timely outreach to referrals, waitlists, and re-engagement efforts
- Promote client retention, appointment adherence, and continuity of care
- Identify and communicate barriers to access, engagement, or attendance, and collaborate on solutions
- Adhere to OMH, OPWDD Article 16, and Article 31 regulatory standards
- Maintain compliance with EFMNY policies, procedures, and documentation requirements
- Support audit readiness and quality improvement activities as assigned
- Assist with the supervision, training, and support of clinical staff, interns, or consultants, as assigned
- Support clinic operations in coordination with the Clinic Director, including workflow, scheduling, and documentation processes
- Serve as an EHR superuser/admin, as designated
- Participate in required DOH, OMH, and OPWDD trainings and meetings
- Support clinical grant deliverables and reporting requirements, as assigned
- Collaborate with administrative staff on data collection, reporting, and grant-related activities
- Participate in special projects or assignments at the request of the Executive Director
