Looking for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist developmentally delayed and disabled adults with their daily lives.
Responsibilities:
- Support clients in maintaining personal hygiene through instruction and supervision
- Apply behavioral and therapeutic strategies to support client growth and daily functioning
- Guide clients in choosing appropriate clothing for daily activities and weather conditions, complete quarterly inventories, and assist with purchasing or replacing items in accordance with family preferences
- Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation and secure storage
- Monitor and report physical health and behavioral changes
- Track and communicate medication inventory and updates to Health Services
- Assist with transportation to/from medical appointments and remain with client (if client approves). Safeguard and deliver all medical documentation after each appointment
- Provide First Aid and CPR as needed and respond to emergencies appropriately
- Monitor vital signs and overall health (e.g., blood pressure, blood sugar, sleep patterns, bowel movements, etc.)
- Follow OSHA regulations and maintain awareness of safety procedures
- Assist clients with planning healthy meals, grocery shopping, and food preparation, including proper cooking and storage practices
- Maintain and engage client in keeping a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment, including basic housekeeping and upkeep (indoors and exterior) of the home or apartment
- Assist clients in selecting appropriate activities and participating in community programs; manage assigned funds, track receipts, and provide transportation to and from activities
- Collaborate and Communicate effectively with all staff members across departments
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors
Requirements:
- HS Diploma/ GED
- Valid driver’s license of 3 or more years
- Your own transportation *as our locations are not accessible via public transportation
