Day Hab Instructor

The Day Habilitation Instructor supports the emotional, physical, and social well-being of individuals with developmental disabilities at CLC. This role provides supervision, mentoring, and instruction while helping clients build independence through individualized programs and daily activities.
Key Responsibilities
Transport clients to and from the Day Hab program and work sites
Supervise and support clients during activities on and off site
Provide “Active Treatment” using therapeutic strategies and positive behavioral supports
Assist with personal care, hygiene, and appropriate clothing as needed
Administer medications, monitor health conditions, and report behavioral or physical changes
Facilitate social interaction and skill development in a positive, educational environment
Ensure client safety, including emergency response, first aid, and CPR
Maintain program vehicles, logs, and daily safety inspections
Encourage client choice and independence in daily activities
Collaborate with internal departments and communicate concerns to supervisors
Requirements
Ability to work independently and supervise a group of participants
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work at different program sites or split shifts if needed
Maintain confidentiality and a safe, respectful environment for clients, families, and coworkers
Training and competency in CPR, SCIP, Person-Centered Planning, Defensive Driving, and Positive Behavioral Strategies (or willingness to obtain)
